魔理沙は大変なものを盗んでいきました (Marisa Stole the Precious Thing) is one of the most widely recognized Touhou doujin music arrangements in the rhythm game community, originally released by the circle IOSYS on their 2006 album 東方乙女囃子 (Touhou Otomebayashi). The track was produced by ARM and 夕野ヨシミ (Yoshimi Yuno), both core IOSYS members, with vocals by 藤咲かりん (Karin Fujisaki). The jacket art featured on the song's CD was carried over directly into the maimai in-game display. The song's title is a direct parody of Inspector Zenigata's famous line from the anime film Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro, "奴はとんでもないものを盗んでいきました" ("He stole something incredible"), reworked to cast the Touhou character Marisa Kirisame as the thief. The song's PV, produced by IOSYS, visually reinforces the reference by depicting Reimu Hakurei wearing a detective's coat and delivering the line herself, framing Marisa as the Lupin-like culprit. Musically, the arrangement draws from two distinct Touhou ZUN compositions: 人形裁判 ～ 人の形弄びし少女 (Doll Judge ~ The Girl Who Toys with People's Shapes), the theme of Alice Margatroid from 東方妖々夢 (Perfect Cherry Blossom), and 春色小径 ～ Colorful Path (Spring Lane ~ Colorful Path) from 東方花映塚 (Phantasmagoria of Flower View). In maimai, the song debuted on September 5, 2013 as part of the GreeN version with a full set of Standard (STD) charts. The song was later removed from standard rotation on July 11, 2019, but returned in a new form: DX charts were added during the CiRCLE PLUS version, unlockable via the Stamp Card system.
