Grip & Break down !! is a high-energy Touhou Project vocal arrangement by the long-running doujin circle SOUND HOLIC, featuring vocalist Nana Takahashi. The track reimagines Flandre Scarlet's extra-boss theme "U.N. Owen Was Her?" (U.N.オーエンは彼女なのか？) from 東方紅魔郷 〜 the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. Its title is a direct English translation of Flandre's signature line "きゅっとしてドカーン" ("squeeze and boom"), which she delivers in the original game before destroying her opponents, a fitting translation for a song built around the character's childlike cruelty and explosive power. Arranged by the duo SHU x GUCCI with lyrics by Blue E, the song first appeared on SOUND HOLIC's 2008 doujin album 紅 -KURENAI- before crossing into rhythm games. It was part of maimai GreeN's launch lineup on July 11, 2013, making it one of the earliest Touhou arrangements in the series. Notably, the official promotional video accompanying the song is packed with parodies of Bandai Namco's Tekken fighting game series, a nod that received official approval from the Tekken team itself. In maimai, the song was initially filed under the VARIETY genre and later reclassified into the dedicated 東方Project (Touhou Project) category. The original STANDARD charts debuted with GreeN, while DX charts were added nearly nine years later in maimai でらっくす UNiVERSE PLUS (March 2022), initially unlockable through a Stamp Card system before being made available by default.
