ORANGE PLUS

maimai ORANGE PLUS, released on March 19, 2015 and subtitled 暁 ("Dawn"), is the sixth version of the maimai series, building upon maimai ORANGE's framework. The most significant gameplay addition is the introduction of Re:MASTER difficulty — a tier above MASTER described as not merely harder but qualitatively different in chart design. Existing songs received Re:MASTER charts alongside the initial launch, and the difficulty continues to receive new additions through subsequent updates. The Home Ranker system was also introduced, posting a weekly top-three scoring leaderboard per arcade location with special presentation screens for ranked players. Quality-of-life improvements include a NEW GET category in the collection screen for quickly locating recently acquired items, track numbers now displayed as "Track 1/3" for clarity, and the option to hide one's Rating on results screens while the value is still tracked behind the scenes.

This version marks the first time songs were removed from the series — a total of thirteen early J-POP licensed tracks were retired. It is the final version to use maimile as the in-game currency until maimai でらっくす BUDDiES PLUS. System improvements include refined touch sensor detection, chart designer names displayed during song selection, scrolling long song titles, and a new start-screen animation. Collaboration events expanded significantly across this version's lifecycle, including tie-ins with Persona 4 Dancing All Night, CHUNITHM, and Sega Hard Girls.
