The original composition by ZUN (Team Shanghai Alice) is reimagined here with arrangement and lyrics by comp, vocals by the circle's regular vocalist ranko, and piano by paprika. The track originally appeared on Butaotome's 2013 album 少女煉獄 (Shōjo Rengoku, "Girl Purgatory"). The song joined maimai with the launch of maimai PiNK PLUS on June 30, 2016, as part of the game's extensive Touhou Project catalog. Its driving 180 BPM pulse, layered piano work, and ranko's theatrical vocal delivery create an urgent, introspective atmosphere that mirrors the lyrics' focus on shedding social masks and confronting the ephemeral nature of human existence. The official music video, produced by yama_ko, kichi, and 前田地生, reinforces this dark, contemplative mood. The song later appeared in CHUNITHM STAR and returned for CHUNITHM SUPER STAR, extending its reach beyond the maimai ecosystem. In maimai, the Master chart (level 13+, constant 13.8) designed by Jack stands out for its dense 902-note layout, with an unusually high count of 119 slide notes woven through the song's energetic peaks, a chart that rewards both stamina and precise slide handling.
