Acceleration is a J-CORE track by REDALiCE (Yoshikazu Nagai), originally composed for the HALFPIPE TOKYO digital attraction at SEGA's Tokyo Joypolis. The song was added to maimai PLUS at its launch on December 13, 2012, as part of a 16-song pipeline drawn from Joypolis ride soundtracks. At 180 BPM, Acceleration delivers a bright, driving hardcore sound built around crisp synth lines and a relentless four-on-the-floor kick pattern, capped by the signature shouted sample "アユレディ？ゴー！" (Are you ready? Go!) that cues each drop. The accompanying video by flapper3 layers intersecting beams of light against a dark background, matching the track's accelerating momentum with sleek, stylized visuals. REDALiCE, founder of the influential HARDCORE TANO*C label and the doujin circle ALiCE'S EMOTiON, intended Acceleration to be instantly recognizable as his work even when heard from across a noisy arcade floor. He named the track directly after the ride experience, the HALFPIPE TOKYO attraction constantly accelerates, and has openly admitted to preferring the straightforward, almost cliché approach. Over the course of maimai's evolution from PLUS through the DX era, Acceleration's difficulty levels were adjusted multiple times as the game's chart standards shifted. The current Expert and Master charts (levels 11+ and 13 respectively) were designed by 譜面-100号 and ニャイン, with the Master chart at constant 13.4 challenging players with its brisk, melody-driven patterning.
