The track's title carries a layered meaning, it signals the high-energy rave sound while serving as an inside reference to the artist's own career. void(Mournfinale) had previously released music under the alias Personative, retiring that name after 2013's "PERSONALLiTi." When asked why Revive The Rave was released under the void name rather than Personative, the artist explained that the song represents a conceptual revival of that earlier style, keeping Personative "revived" in spirit while releasing under the primary void moniker. void(Mournfinale) is a BMS (Be-Music Source) composer active in the Japanese doujin music scene. The parenthetical "(Mournfinale)" distinguishes this artist from another composer, Kobayashi Yuuya of IOSYS, who also uses the name void. The song's in-game music video was produced by murAta Yuzi. An extended version of Revive The Rave appears on void's album Seventh Summer of Love and was also included in the maimai ALL PERFECT COLLECTiON soundtrack.
