The song arrived in maimai PiNK PLUS in September 2016 as a limited-time Challenge Track, the fourth such track for that version, before rolling out to general availability the following month. Its 160 BPM tempo drives a high-energy, straightforward electronic arrangement that lives up to the "hyper active" name, with crisp synth leads and a relentless beat. Beyond maimai, Hyper Active crossed over into CHUNITHM STAR and オンゲキ (as part of Chapter 1), earning a place among the earliest original compositions shared across all three SEGA arcade rhythm game franchises. The song's maimai MASTER chart, designed by ぴちネコ (Pichineko), carries a 13.9 difficulty constant and packs over 1,000 notes with a dense tap-heavy layout, while the EXPERT chart, designed by Jack at 13.2, emphasizes slide sequences.
