BREAK YOU!! is a high-energy eurobeat track by the doujin music circle A-One, originally created for SEGA's digital reality attraction HALFPIPE TOKYO at the Joypolis indoor theme park. It was added to maimai GreeN on September 19, 2013, initially unlockable with 25,000 maimile before becoming available by default starting with the ORANGE update. The song was composed by ELEMENTAS, a prominent figure in the Touhou euro-arrangement scene and a core member of A-One, who had previously contributed the maimai track FEEL ALIVE. The vocals are delivered by Takahito Rute Koshida (越田Rute隆人), who also wrote the lyrics under the name Rute. The track is built around aggressive arpeggios, driving synth lines, and a dramatic sense of acceleration, paired with Koshida's sharp, resonant vocal delivery and wild chorus interplay. BREAK YOU!! carries a deliberate philosophical quirk: the lyrics were intentionally written to be difficult to decipher, encouraging listeners to "break out" of the frame of the words themselves and hear what they will. This playful approach gave rise to the fan nickname "burekkyuu" (ぶれっきゅー), a loose Japanese pronunciation of the title that fans adopted as an affectionate catchphrase. On the charting side, the Expert difficulty was designed by mai-Star, while the Master chart (current level 13+, constant 13.7) was created by 譜面-100号. The Master difficulty has undergone multiple level revisions across maimai versions, starting at level 11 in GreeN and climbing to its current 13+ rating. An extended version, BREAK YOU!! 〜Full Version〜, appears on A-One's album MONTAGE Blue and the maimai ALL PERFECT COLLECTiON soundtrack.
