CiRCLE PLUS

maimai DX CiRCLE PLUS, released on March 19, 2026, is a version upgrade to maimai DX CiRCLE. The marquee feature is Circle Challenge, a weekly cooperative mode where circle members collectively work toward an achievement rate goal on a shared challenge track to earn circle points and maimile. The DX Rating system has been expanded with star medal subdivisions starting at 14,000 Rating and a new rainbow "Kiwami" plate design at 16,000 and above, visually enriching the rating badge progression. Quality-of-life additions include the ability to view server-wide clear rate data directly in-game, long songs becoming playable in Freedom Mode for the first time, and favorite song registration from the preparation screen. A Chiho Boost mechanic also arrives, applying a progress multiplier to returning original chiho areas during limited-time revivals.

Several system-level changes accompany the launch. The recommended categories have been reworked: the "recommended based on your selection" category is removed entirely, and the "popular songs" category is restricted to players with a DX Rating below 4,000, with guests and new Aime users defaulting to it. The version category sort order is inverted to show newest versions first, and monthly circle point icon rewards are doubled. Rival score displays now show ALL PERFECT/FULL COMBO status. Master and Re:Master charts from BUDDiES PLUS are unlocked for all players from the start. Several chiho areas have been retired with their songs becoming permanently available, maimile balances are reset to 0 on launch, and dan rank carry-over has been adjusted so that players who cleared True Dan ranks in CiRCLE now start at 10th Dan in CiRCLE PLUS.
