最強 the サマータイム!!!!! (Saikyou the Summertime!!!!!) is the main theme of ONGEKI SUMMER, the second major version of Sega's ONGEKI rhythm game series. Composed, arranged, and written by Motonari Murakawa (村カワ基成), the track is performed by ONGEKI Shooters, a vocalist unit that brings together the voice actresses of all five main ONGEKI characters: Hikaru Akao (Akari Hoshizaki), Yurika Kubo (Rio Takase), Miho Okasaki (Chinatsu Hinata), Fuuka Izumi (Tsumugi Shinonome), and Azumi Waki (Mia Kashiwagi). True to its celebratory title, the song is an upbeat, pop-rock anthem about lazy beach days, swimsuit shopping, failed diet resolutions, and the precious, fleeting nature of summer youth. The song crossed into maimai でらっくす PLUS on February 20, 2020 as part of a cross-franchise collaboration between ONGEKI and maimai. It was initially gated behind the ONGEKI Area event, players needed to accumulate 10 meters of travel distance to unlock it, before opening up to everyone on April 1, 2020. It later appeared in CHUNITHM PARADISE LOST on July 21, 2021, making it one of relatively few tracks playable across all three of Sega's major arcade rhythm game families. In maimai, the MASTER chart was designed by Rocher@penguin (ロシェ＠ペンギン) and originally launched at level 12 before being upgraded to 12+ (constant 12.7) from the FESTiVAL version onward. The EXPERT chart, designed by Kanon Oguni (華火職人), carries a level 9+ rating. A distinctive feature of the MASTER chart is its slide-note choreography: during the section of the song that mimics the PV's unit member introduction, the slides trace out each character's motif and associated lettering, adding a visual-narrative layer to the gameplay that rewards familiarity with the source material.
