The song made its debut on September 16, 2021 in maimai DX UNiVERSE as part of the Space Station Area (宇宙すてーしょんちほー) Perfect Challenge event, where players had to clear it after reaching a cumulative travel distance of 684 km in the area. From maimai DX FESTiVAL onward, the song became available by default without the challenge requirement. Musically, NAGAREBOSHI☆ROCKET is an energetic UK hardcore piece running at 216 BPM. The arrangement is built around crisp kick patterns, rapid arpeggios, and Umeboshi Chazuke's signature chiptune-tinged synth leads. The track is purely instrumental, no vocals, letting the melody and rhythm carry the momentum. An extended version later appeared on the PERFECT CHALLENGE DiSC PLUS -UNiVERSE- mini-soundtrack and the maimai DX Best Album Area 2 compilation.
