Mysterious Destiny is the battle theme of Bayonetta, the Umbran witch and star of Platinum Games' 2009 character action title. Composed and arranged by Masami Ueda with lyrics by Nikola Obermann and vocals by Belgian singer-actress Helena Noguerra, the track plays as standard combat music during Bayonetta's stylish, bullet-ridden rampage. Its complete title, "Theme Of Bayonetta - Mysterious Destiny", positions it as the game's de facto theme song, and it first appeared on the 2009 BAYONETTA ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK. The track entered maimai as a purchasable unlock in the GreeN version on August 7, 2013, costing 7,980 maimile before becoming freely available from the ORANGE version onward. Notes designer はっぴー (Happy) handled both the EXPERT and MASTER charts. According to the designer, the EXPERT layout was originally conceived as the MASTER chart, an origin story that explains why the level 12+ EXPERT punches well above its weight class compared to peer charts of its era. The MASTER chart (level 13.3) is even more singular: it contains zero Hold notes across its 372 total, relying almost entirely on 185 Slide notes. This pure-slide construction makes it one of the most distinctive gimmick charts from maimai's early years and a memorable showcase of はっぴー's design signature.
