It is a direct sequel to the artist's earlier piece ほしぞらトラベル (Hoshizora Travel), which originally appeared in C4Cat's mobile rhythm game Dynamix rather than in maimai itself. Both tracks share a sparkling, high-energy soundscape anchored by a brisk 200 BPM tempo. The song carries an in-game narrative about twin shrine maidens, Telus (テルス) and Melk (メルク), belonging to a star-worshipping people. When the Earth sinks beneath the waters, the sisters merge with stars and transcend into new cosmic beings called "Dependancy," watching over the reborn planet from the heavens, a mythological framing reflected in the song's sweeping, celestial melody. 奏音 is a composer who also performs as part of the musical unit Citrus and Ocean Colour. For some time, 奏音 was thought to be entirely unrelated to 大国奏音 (Kanon Oguni), the composer behind the maimai track 封焔の135秒. However, social-media activity around the KALEIDXSCOPE event has since hinted at a possible connection between the two namesakes, leaving the relationship ambiguous even among dedicated fans. The MASTER chart, designed by シチミヘルツ at a level constant of 14.4, is notably dense with Touch notes, 202 out of 1,179 total, making it one of the more touch-intensive level-14 charts in the game. The EXPERT chart was handled by 隅田川星人. In maimai DX PRiSM (February 2025), an UTAGE (宴) chart was added under the punning title ほしだけスペクタクル (Hoshidake Spectacle, "Stars-Only Spectacle"), a sharp contrast to the standard charts: it uses only Tap and Slide notes, with zero Holds, Touches, or Breaks.
