Originally submitted to the 大血戦 -THE BMS OF FIGHTERS ULTIMATE- (BOFU2015) competition, it finished second overall, a strong performance that cemented its status as a modern BMS classic. Its in-competition genre is listed as "Breakthrough," a fitting label for a track whose relentless 192 BPM drive, pounding kick drums, and aggressive synth leads evoke the image of an unstoppable warship charging through enemy waters. The title derives from "dreadnought," a term for the most powerful class of battleship in the early 20th century, figuratively meaning "one who fears nothing." According to iimo, who directed the song's music video, the track was inspired by the Royal Navy's futuristic concept model "Dreadnought 2050." That video, an intense, beam-heavy production, marks iimo's second contribution to maimai following their earlier work on conflict (xi vs. Crimsona), and fans immediately recognized the connection as a spiritual sequel.
