Daydream café is the opening theme song for the first season of the anime series *Is the Order a Rabbit?* (ご注文はうさぎですか?), a beloved slice-of-life series centered around a cast of girls working in a countryside café. The track is performed by Petit Rabbit's, the in-universe band name for the five main voice actresses: Ayane Sakura (Cocoa), Inori Minase (Chino), Risa Taneda (Rize), Satomi Sato (Chiya), and Maaya Uchida (Syaro). The music was composed and arranged by Kaoru Okubo, with lyrics penned by Aki Hata, a veteran anime lyricist known for numerous franchise theme songs. The song made its maimai debut on June 30, 2016, as part of maimai PiNK PLUS, where it launched alongside the Standard chart set. As the game transitioned to the DX era, Daydream café received DX-style charts in maimai でらっくす Splash (September 17, 2020), introducing Touch note gameplay and redesigned note layouts for the DX cab. Notably, the DX Master chart was designed by 小鳥遊さん (Takanashi-san), a pseudonym that directly references the family name of Chino Kafuu, one of the anime's central characters. The Standard chart set, designed by しろいろ (Expert) and はっぴー (Master), went through multiple level revisions across versions, with the Standard Master eventually settling at level 12. Daydream café was removed from the maimai arcade catalog on March 24, 2022, and is unavailable in Asian and Chinese regional versions of maimai DX. The track also appears in SEGA's other rhythm titles, CHUNITHM and オンゲキ, with distinct song cuts and dedicated charts across each series.
