Ambivalence (アンビバレンス) is a maimai original song produced by suriii (すりぃ) in collaboration with vocalist Aizawa (相沢), added to maimai でらっくす UNiVERSE on September 22, 2021. It serves as Episode 4 of the main story in Kotonoha Project 2nd Season, a narrative-driven multimedia song cycle that intertwines original music across multiple arcade rhythm games. The song's lyrics, which include the repeated phrase "アンビバレンスな私なの" ("I'm so ambivalent"), explore themes of contradiction between self and desire, colored by imagery of roses, moonlight, and emotional decay. Musically, Ambivalence drives forward at 187 BPM with a sharp electronic-rock arrangement that showcases both suriii's compositional range and the contrasting vocal interplay between the two artists. The accompanying music video (ムービー) was created by Tsutsumi Hideaki (ツツミヒデアキ). The track also received a Vocaloid version released separately, and its reach extends beyond maimai: it appears in CHUNITHM SUN, オンゲキ Re:Fresh, and the mobile rhythm game Phigros.
