"We Are Us" is an energetic pop-rock anthem by 舞ヶ原シンセ研究会 (Maigahara Synth Research Society), the in-universe band name representing Sega's Irodorimidori (イロドリミドリ) multimedia project. The song originally debuted in CHUNITHM PARADISE before joining maimai DX UNiVERSE as part of the ONGEKI & CHUNITHM crossover lineup on March 11, 2022. Composed, arranged, and written by Ryohei Sataka, it features performances by three Irodorimidori voice actresses, Kanade Nogezaki (Rika Tachibana), Hinako Toudou (Sarara Yashima), and Serenade Kikyou (Sayaka Harada), trading off lines in a call-and-response style. The accompanying music video and jacket artwork were produced by Hisasi, the illustrator closely associated with the Irodorimidori franchise. Lyrically, the song explores themes of self-determination and breaking free from a predetermined life, with the chorus serving as a collective declaration of identity: "We Are Us." The full version and an instrumental were later collected on the sixth Irodorimidori album, 伝説 (Densetsu). In maimai, the Master chart (level 13, constant 13.5) designed by シチミヘルツ carries a dense 833-note count with a heavy concentration of Slide and Touch patterns, while the Expert chart by 翠楼屋 offers a more measured 413-note arrangement.
