"チューリングの跡" (Turing's Trace) is an original composition by US-based BMS producer Frums, contributed to maimai DX UNiVERSE PLUS as part of the 天界ちほー5 (Celestial Area 5) event in June 2022. It marks Frums' first original commission for the maimai series, his prior appearance, "Credits," was an移植 (port) from the BMS scene. The track is defined by a superficially steady BPM of 180 and constant time signature, but beneath that surface lies a dense lattice of polyrhythms and shifting accent patterns that create the sensation of irregular meter. Frums himself stated on Twitter that he originally composed the piece at BPM 360; the in-game version halves that tempo for practical readability, though an 宴 (Utage) chart added in 2025 restores the original BPM. The MASTER chart, designed by the enigmatic 譜面-100号, stands out for its extreme note-type asymmetry: out of 956 total notes, only a single Slide note appears, while 228 Touch notes demand dense palm-and-finger interaction, an unorthodox distribution that has become a talking point among high-level players. The EXPERT chart was handled by Jack, who carried over the rhythmically intricate, hold-note-heavy approach he previously applied to Frums' "Credits" EXPERT. The jacket illustration was provided by 藤ちょこ (Fujichoko), a frequent collaborator on maimai original song artwork. The song was later ported to CHUNITHM, where a different charter (under the alias "Remnants of Blade") handled its adaptation.
