Paranoia is a Touhou Project vocal arrangement by the doujin circle DiGiTAL WiNG, featuring 花たん (Hanatan) on vocals. The track transforms Hartmann's Youkai Girl (ハルトマンの妖怪少女), the extra-stage boss theme of Komeiji Koishi from Subterranean Animism (東方地霊殿), into an uptempo rave piece driven by a four-on-the-floor beat. Arranged by FN2 with lyrics penned by sumijun, the song originally appeared on the 2013 album RAVER'S NEST 1 TOHO RAVE PARTY. Paranoia first crossed into rhythm games through CHUNITHM AMAZON in 2018, then joined maimai DX Splash at its September 2020 launch across all regions, including the Chinese release (舞萌DX 2021). It later appeared in ONGEKI R.E.D., becoming a rare Touhou track playable across all three of SEGA's major arcade rhythm game lines. The song's lyrical content, touching on love, paranoia, and subconscious perception, directly reflects its source character Komeiji Koishi, a youkai who closed her third eye and lost her mind-reading ability, gaining a free but disconnected sense of self. In maimai, Paranoia initially shipped with DX charts only; Standard charts were added over five years later in CiRCLE (January 2026), unlockable through Friend Matching Season 26. The chart credits span multiple notable designers, with the anonymized charter 某S氏 handling the DX Master and サファ太 (Safata) designing both the DX Expert and Standard Master.
