Moon of Noon is an instrumental original track by Sampling Masters MEGA, the high-energy alias of composer Shinji Hosoe, added to maimai MURASAKi PLUS in October 2017 as a Challenge Track. The song sits at a driving 200 BPM, characteristic of Hosoe's hard-electro and techno style, and serves as one of the version's signature boss pieces. Its title deliberately mirrors Hosoe's earlier composition "SON OF SUN" (credited under his Hosoe Shinji name in DJMAX TECHNIKA), forming a conceptual symmetry series where contrasting celestial motifs, sun and moon, day and night, are set to similarly aggressive production. In maimai, Moon of Noon marked Hosoe's first-ever original contribution to the series, and its high-level MASTER chart (level 14, designed by rioN) quickly became a staple of expert-level play, later earning a spot as the second track in the game's White Master (白皆伝) dan certification course. The song's jacket art and in-game movie were handled by Kodai Endo (HDLV). Moon of Noon was also imported into CHUNITHM SUN starting in 2023, initially as a limited unlock and later made permanently available.
