JACKY [Remix] is a SEGA-produced remix of Jacky Bryant's stage theme from the 1993 arcade classic Virtua Fighter, the world's first 3D polygon-based fighting game. The arrangement was handled by Takenobu Mitsuyoshi (光吉猛修), a veteran SEGA composer known for his work on arcade hits such as Daytona USA and the original Virtua Fighter soundtrack. Mitsuyoshi described his approach as the "Crackin' DJ Part2 method", a sample-based remix technique that cuts and reassembles the original material while preserving its melodic core, resulting in a more danceable, groove-driven version of the familiar fighter theme. Added to the very first maimai arcade release on September 13, 2012, JACKY [Remix] is among the oldest songs in the game's library. It carries no lyrics, the track is purely instrumental, built around the original's glittering synth riff and rhythmic refrain. The jacket art and in-game video originally featured low-polygon Virtua Fighter characters (Jacky Bryant, Akira Yuki, Pai Chan) rendered in the style of the 1993 original, though the video was replaced with a static jacket image starting in maimai でらっくす. Over its lifecycle, JACKY [Remix] has seen multiple difficulty adjustments across maimai versions. A Standard Re:Master chart was added on October 23, 2020, as part of a six-song batch celebrating the release of the maimai ALL PERFECT COLLECTION soundtrack, the first new Standard charts added to the game since the でらっくす update. The Re:Master chart sits at level 14, demanding strong slide-note reading and high-density patterning.
