KHYMΞXΛ (キメラ) is a commissioned original song for the maimai DX rhythm game series, created by the composer collective のらねこさい (のらねこさい) with vocals by ricono. It was written as one of the qualifying tracks for the KING of Performai The 5th tournament, debuting on maimai DX BUDDiES in November 2023. The title, read as キメラ (chimera), uses the Greek letters Ξ and Lambda to evoke the mythological hybrid creature, a deliberate thematic choice. The name mirrors the song's production: のらねこさい is a portmanteau of its three members, nora2r (のら), ねこみりん (ねこ), and xi (さい), who had previously contributed to the BMS event scene under this alias (notably with Lemuria for BOFU2016) but had never before composed a single track together. xi had previously contributed Heavenly Blast to maimai, while nora2r and ねこみりん made their maimai debut with this song. Vocalist ricono, who delivers the track's Greek lyrics, had previously been featured on アンバークロニクル (Amber Chronicle) for the same series. At 220 BPM, KHYMΞXΛ is a high-intensity rush of aggressive electronic production layered with ricono's soaring, almost choral vocal lines. The lyrics are written entirely in Greek, uncommon for a maimai original, and read as a fragmented poetic narrative involving a princess, betrayal, and a plea for mercy, lending the track an ancient, ritualistic quality. The music video was produced by わっふゑ. The Master chart, rated 14+, was itself a collaborative effort: three note designers, 鳩ホルダー, サファ太, and Luxizhel, worked under the composite name 鳩サファzhel, another chimera-style joint identity that nods to the song's core concept. The Expert chart was designed solo by はっぴー.
